to virtualize my installations. So, since 15 years,
I carry on working on virtual productions and all
sorts of technologic experimentations linked to
computers, networks, painting and sculpture.
Virtual installations in 3D and with multi-users
in Internet network informatics.
During these fourteen years I have tested my
realizations and met people on the internet
tests’s server of a commercial firm named
Blaxun. Here is its history in short:
The engineers of the firm Blaxun computerized
one of the first data processing server for multiusers
virtual reality designated for the TV
Channel “Canal plus”. That firm was also
running a commercial service for “”canal
plus”, called “The second world” or something
like that. It had in its computerized data, the
town of Paris reproduced in 3D where the users
had the possibility of getting their “avatars” to
circulate and communicate. This concept is still
used nowadays by the commercial firm “second
life”. Blaxun sold some servers, working on
subjects as American comics, fiction science or
pornography.
In order to get its functioning better known and
to make some technical improvement before its
marketing, Blaxun had set a computer server at
free disposal for engineers and artists who
wished to make tests or put on it their virtual
installations. At the end, the firm Blaxun who
had difficulties disappeared after the collapse of
stock market due to the Internet speculative
bubble and let the free server operating until
2009.After their bankruptcy, we were allowed
get the free plugin which was running on
“clients” computers
The free tests server of this company has been
the place where I got contacts during years.
I was able to invite my virtual friends in my real
workshop in Paris.
All these friends understood that they had
“under their fingers”, one of the fundamental
principles of art, the “immersion”. The
immersion (to put oneself into) is a basis to
make artistic work and also a basis for its
understanding by viewers and visitors. But
